Thursday 17th May.  Diane & Tony of Timeless Fashions Punta Prima are holding a Fashion Show of Summer Designs.  2pm Simon Morton from Sunshinefm. 2.15pm Nick Gold. 2.30pm Phoenix Concert Band will entertain you before the Fashion Show at 3pm.   Proceeds of raffle and donations to Help At Home Costa Blanca.  A great way to spend an afternoon.  

Thursday 17th May.  7pm.  Morgan's Bar Eagles Nest Villamartin, A Race Night is being held to raise funds for Help at Home Costa Blanca.  Come along and enjoy the fun at the races.

29th May Tuesday 'Star's In Their Eyes' show at Pablo's International Bar (near Concierto's & Maggie's) Playa Flamenca Orihuela Costa.  All donations and raffle towards Help At Home Costa Blanca. 

 We celebrated our First Anniversary Tuesday 24th April at The Emerald Isle La Florida.  A great fun packed afternoon was enjoyed by more than 200 people and raised a staggering €760.   The raffle raised €465.   Donations of €120 and the sale of donated clothes raised  €175.  
      
A huge thank you all who helped us celebrate our 1st Birthday.
We held a Fashion Show of nearly new clothes Compared by DJ Dave Cherry, Barry and Joan volunteers played with the Torrevieja Pipes & Drums.  Peter & Fiona Day of Jukebox Promotions popped in to wish Norah Bond President and her team of fantastic volunteers happy birthday. Chris Jonson sang Reggae numbers.  Lucy Stewart and Raquel Pena Sevillana Dancers performed several routines concluded by Backbeat 2 Beatles – Alan & Andy of Croeso Inn La Florida.  We all enjoyed a BBQ.

 Purpose of the Charity:

 The purpose of which is to provide free assistance to all nationalities, of any age, who find themselves in difficulty following illness, hospitalisation, injury or respite assistance to carers of those with long term illness.  This is not a full time, or long term care service but one offering a little help to people in a time of need to all ages and nationalities.

This service is much needed, as expatriates from various countries do not always have the support of family members and have difficulty accessing this type of service due to language barriers nor can they afford nursing agencies. 

We pride ourselves with the way we receive, respond and release to those in need of a little FREE help at home.  When we receive enquiries, we respond within 24 hours and release the case when we have completed our care, usually within 4 / 6 weeks.  If care is required longer, we help organise Social Services to provide long term care and support wherever you live. 

We provide a qualified nurse, backed up by unpaid volunteers, funded by donations and sponsorship.

This service could be seen as similar to the "District Nurse / Home Help" system in United Kingdom with the additional backup of non-medically qualified carers as required.

Membership and experience:

The charity consists of experienced Charity volunteers, qualified British / Spanish Nurses, Carers, Pharmacists, Translators and a Spanish speaking UK Legal Advisor, plus over 120  enthusiastic volunteers.

Areas Covered:

Approximately 20 Km around Torrevieja, aiming to expand to more areas of Alicante Valencia as resources permit.  

Orihuela Costa, Torrevieja, Campoverde, La Mata, La Siesta, San Luis Torrevieja and now Ciudad Quesada and Rojales areas.    We are now developing La Marina area, should you be interested, please contact : HAHCBvolunteers@hotmail.co.uk

Our Aims: 

• To help all those who find themselves in difficulty during illness.

• To care and respect the people we look after.

• To ensure that help is delivered to a professional standard in both the care and treatment of patients.

• To employ at least one professionally qualified nurse, whose role would be to run the nursing service, co-ordinate the nursing volunteers, carry out assessments of the patients. 

  To run advice clinics and to provide nursing care, if required.

• To employ additional nurses & if possible expand our network of volunteers and broaden the area of coverage within Valencia.

• To ensure our resources are used effectively to achieve our aims.

  To work with Caritas, local Charities & Associations, offering advice and support to those in need.
